Old Irish Reading Group Are you interested in exploring the Irish language that was used in medieval times? The Old Irish Reading Group that meets every Friday at Sancta Sophia College at the University of Sydney is welcoming new members. Starting Friday 30 July, a new group of beginners will be starting with the group. The program will be 12.00 midday - beginners working through Quin's Old Irish Workbook from the start; 12.30 - reading and translating from the text Crith Gablach; 1.30 - advanced group working through Quin's Old Irish Workbook from lesson 26; 2.00 - finish. Everyone is welcome for any part or the whole of the program. The sessions are fun and informal over coffee (bring your lunch if you like). You don't have to know any Old or Modern Irish to join us, and there is no homework (although everyone is welcome to do extra work or preparation at home if they want to). If you think you might be interested, please email or phone Pamela (
